PROSTATE CANCER UK NEED OUR HELP
The coronavirus pandemic is having a huge impact on every aspect of life. For many, this impact will be temporary. But for men living with or after prostate cancer in the UK, this crisis could have a devastating long-term consequence: by bringing life-saving prostate cancer research to a standstill. Research is crucial to finding new ways to treat and diagnose prostate cancer, and ensure no fathers, sons, brothers and friends are lost to this terrible disease. But now, prostate cancer labs across the UK have closed due to the physical distancing measures required to contain the virus, and research has come to a halt. Without urgent funds, there’s a real risk that much of this ground-breaking work may never re-start.No one knows exactly when we will emerge from this crisis, but when we do, it’s critical we give our researchers the time and resources they need to resume their life-saving work. But we’re predicting an unprecedented drop in our fundraising due to the impact of Covid-19. Our work relies entirely on generous donations from you, and people like you. Now, your support is more important than ever. I know that if we all come together our goal to help secure the future of prostate cancer research is achievable.
Prostate cancer does not stop for Covid-19. Every 45 minutes, another man dies of the disease, and this will continue until research finds a way to stop prostate cancer being a killer. We’ve made such powerful progress so far, we can’t let the next few months set us back.
