After joining us in August 1990, Keyline Swansea’s Branch Manager Mark Hannifan celebrated an amazing 30 years with the Group.
Not only has Mark been with us for 30 years, but he also started his career with us as an apprentice on a YTS scheme at the age of 17 when he didn’t have a clue what he wanted to do with his professional life - what a great success story - well done Mark!
Now in his thirty-first year with the business, Mark is a successful Branch Manager and describes himself as someone who has always been willing to listen and learn and risen to the challenges when needed. With this approach, it’s no wonder that Mark has such a successful and dedicated team in his branch. The team of seven have a collective service of an amazing 178 years! That's a fantastic amount of civils and drainage experience right there!
As passionate as Mark is about his team, he’s just as passionate about serving his customers, and he's just as dedicated to giving great customer service today as he was when he first joined us thirty years ago. Mark and the team are always working hard to improve their customers' experience at the Swansea branch. With their latest project being a branch refurbishment - bringing new signage, a warehouse refurbishment and new yard layout. Mark and the team are looking forward to the refurbishment bringing a safer yard to work in and a more customer friendly environment. Mark feels that as a branch of the UK’s largest civils merchant - that they need to look the part too. He feels it is important to have a more modern branch, so that it is a more welcoming place to come visit and work in. He looks forward to bringing his customers into an environment where they can more easily look at the stock and get the support they need.
Mark’s also working hard to extend his dedicated team of seven and is taking on a Yard Supervisor and a HIAB Driver. These appointments will be hugely beneficial to everyone, make the branch safer and more efficient, support giving a better customer service and enhance the profile of the branch to their customers and in their region. He’s not stopping there though - he’s also planning on bringing in an apprentice, on a Trusted Civils Expert, Level 2 Apprenticeship, and two Kickstart colleagues. And with the team's joint service at 178 years we know they’ll be in safe hands!
Mark said “I could not be more proud of everyone since we returned from lockdown. We've managed to maintain and grow our customer base and our civils and drainage sales through the most challenging times in my tenure. But it is now time to add to my team so we can kick on again and become even more successful post-COVID’
Well done Mark and team, we look forward to hearing about the great work you’ll do in your refurbished branch.
