The construction industry continues to be impacted by extraordinary market conditions, with ongoing price increases and extended leadtimes - as a result of raw material shortages and related freight issues.
In the month since our last update, this has been further impacted by the continued boom in the RMI sector, with homeowners investing in their indoor and outdoor living spaces - particularly seen on landscaping products and garden buildings. We have also seen a surge in house building - with new house starts at record numbers for the past 18 months and momentum gathering on infrastructure and commercial projects such as HS2 - with further demand impacts expected on aggregates and other raw materials.
These factors are continuing to impact our key product categories (updated 03.06.2021):

SUPPLY
Our colleagues continue to work closely with customers to manage the supply of product for their projects and minimise impact wherever possible. Strong stock holdings are still in place across our national-network, along with committed support from our supplier partners. We are also expanding our supplier portfolio to secure additional supply in key product categories where possible.
PRICE INCREASES
We are continuing to work closely with our suppliers to minimise the impact on our customers wherever possible. A vital part of this is prompt notification of manufacturer increases as they are issued. These are published on our website here and will continue to be updated with any new increases received. With raw material costs remaining volatile further increases may be announced during the second half of the year.
Please note, that due to the extended leadtimes and product allocations currently being experienced the majority of suppliers have stated that products will be invoiced based on delivery date not on date of order.
We thank you again for your continued support and ask that if you have any immediate concerns please speak to your local branch or sales contact who will be able to support you with additional details and information.
