CELEBRATING WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY: COMMITTING TO A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

For this year's World Environment Day, on the back of our recent supplier event held at Silverstone where we learnt lots more about the latest innovations by our suppliers, we want to shine a light on some of the ways our suppliers are creating a greener future.

ACO

One of ACO's most recent initiatives is its 'Water Positive' activity, which assists in delivering sustainable water management for the built environment by demonstrating how caring for water can be achieved through 3 core project considerations. Design, Technology and Environment. You can read more here.

MARSHALLS
Two recent innovative projects helping to accelerate their sustainability plans include locking captured carbon into concrete-facing bricks and cement-free concrete trials. Marshalls has become the first pre-cast concrete manufacturer in the UK to use CarbonCure Technologies’ carbon mineralisation technology, a process which permanently locks captured carbon into concrete. You can find out more here.

POLYPIPE BUILDING PRODUCTS
Polypipe Building Products is committed to being your sustainable manufacturing partner. They incorporate recycled materials into their products and champion low carbon technologies such as water based underfloor heating – which are ideal for pairing with low carbon heat sources such as air and ground source heat pumps. Their manufacturing processes are also built on a foundation of renewably sourced energy, electric forklifts, zero waste to landfill and on-site processing of waste plastics. To learn more about the Polypipe Building Products pledge of net zero carbon emissions and the steps they’ll be taking along the way, visit Our Sustainability Framework - Genuit Group plc.

PROSOLVE
ProSolve has recently expanded its HQ's #solar panel system, increasing the power supply from 10kW to 73kW, providing power for the whole building, including the dedicated electrical car charging points located at the front of the premises. It's all part of how the business is minimising how its operations negatively affect the #environment advances. Maintaining the ISO 140001 accreditation and identifying ways they can improve remains paramount to the businesses culture. ProSolve have also further enhanced their recyclable packaging on a range of primary products such as Ratchet Straps and Tapes - another great step forward, well done! You can read more about ProSolve's sustainability initiative here.

WAVIN
Wavin has introduced six global sustainability programs that cover innovation, social inclusion, circular economy, reporting, environmental impact and public affairs. Wavin's actions are helping to tackle some of the world’s biggest challenges around water supply, sanitation, climate-resilient cities and building performance and their Recycore Technology in drain and soil pipes, uses over 50% recycled PVC whilst ensuring that products have at least the same proven and excellent performance characteristics as those made with virgin materials. You can read more about Wavin's sustainability initiatives here.

Together, we are Breaking New Ground with Sustainable Leadership, by making a difference and creating a more sustainable future for generations to come.
